Live as if everything you do will eventually be known.

Love, the magician, knows this little trick whereby two people walk in different directions yet always remain side by side.

The window in not the view; the window allows the view.

Too late for what?

Just because its what you do best doesn't mean you have to do it.

There is a time to let things happen and a time to make things happen.

One recurring phenomenon is that the very information needed to make the best choice often doesn't arrive until it is time for a decision.

Profanity fixes the other person's attention on your words rather than your thoughts.

There is no such thing as "Best" in a world of individuals.

We buy things we don't need, then look for ways to use them in order to justify the purchase--in this way we end up doing what we don't want to twice.

Every child is an artist.  The problem is how to remain an artist when you grow up.

What is the use of running when we are not on the right road?

Second thoughts are always wiser.

There are no precedents.  You are the first You that ever was.

---------Talking comforts us and dispels tension.  Our automatic reactions come from our human
nature and from memories of past difficulties.  Under stress we naturally tense our muscles and
minds to prepare for flight or fight. Conscious choices can take us beyond these automatic fear
reactions and help us use more creative responses.  We can learn to stay serene when facing our fears rather than react automatically.

We can talk about our feelings with each other. Just talking comforts us and dispels tension. We can also pray and meditate, not to control what we have no power to change, but to accept the ultimate care and wisdom of a Power greater than ourselves. We can keep returning to the simple wisdom of living just one day and one moment at a time. We do not have to deal with today's troubles plus all the troubles we foresee. With practice we can determine to respond with our integrity and not be victims of our automatic reactions.

"As one matures in spiritual life, one becomes more comfortable with paradox, more appreciative of life's ambiguities, its may levels and inherent conflicts.  One develops a sense of life's irony, metaphor and humor and a capacity to embrace the whole, with its beauty and outrageousness, in the graciousness of the heart." -Jack Kornfield

People stumble over the Truth from time to time, but most pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing happened. - Winston Churchill

"If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart? " -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it... always.  -Mahatma Gandhi
